Good afternoon,
I do indeed have the documentation for the HD-3030. Have not had a chance to scan the manual yet. Will post here as soon as that happens. Thanks for your patience!

I am cleaning up this model 28 tape printer and have noticed that the
grease used on gears and other moving parts has dried up a bit.
What is the recommendation for a modern grease and oil that I should use
to lube this mechanism?
I've used some LPS-1 to free up some gummy actions with a lot of success
but not sure if that is a good lube for operation.

The detailed info:

The informal info:
Many of us successfully use Mobil One synthetic for oil and Lucas Red n
Tacky for grease. Available at your local auto parts store.
Some people hate WD-40 but I use it to wash out old gunk before
re-lubrication.
YMMV

IIRC, someone had said they had the full manual for the Heathkit HD-3030 & they were going to see about getting them scanned.? Has that perhaps happened?? Or am I hallucinating the whole thing? :-)

Interesting product. It looks an awful lot like a Flesher TU-300, but this
appears to have an internal loop keyer while the TU-300 I've seen had a
four pin Molex connector to drive an external keyer (like
https://w6iwi.org/rtty/tu300/LoopDriver/ ). The manual table of contents
says the schematic is a folout, but I do not see a scan of it.

The HD-3030 is a Flesher TU-470 in Heathkit clothing. I have them both.

Great! I've never seen a TU-470.
