DEC used the BRPE punch on it's Typeset-8 system. They had that knob on the top. See:

See pix.  It says "BRPE8 6" from what I can tell.  Also, by the connector it appears to be a parallel unit? 
8 level I would assume, but might it be 6 level with the "6" in the model number?
Is it easy for a non-technical seller to remove the cover from the punch block to know more? Does it lift off easily? does it require screw removal?
