George was always cheerful and helpful as well as being knowledgeable. He sent me a number of pieces of gear and encouraged me to have lots of teletype fun. He is sorely missed.
RIP George.

I just learned that George, W7TTY, passed away last November. We have George to thank for creating ITTY, along with Bill Bytheway.  I had the pleasure to get to know George many years ago, and visited him several times in Sequim Washington. He also visited me at least two times in Arvada, Colorado.

I can say this about George: he was a kind, caring person. To a fault, I would say. He would put the needs of others ahead of his own needs, and somehow he always managed. He touched many people in his life.

He was in the Navy, working on nuclear submarines later in his career. He was a teletype repair technician. He knew more about teletypes, especially the model 28 range, than anybody else I have ever met. He had a pile of Teletypes, at one point must have been 50 or so, at his house, and in his later years, he struggled to give them away.

He owned a Quiznos shop somewhere in the Seattle area at one point

And he was an very active ham, sadly now a silent key.
