Thermal, from my understanding, is what most receipts are made of. Glossy on one side, matte on the other. Apparently they had 8 1/2” rolls for fax. 

I see a box of 12 going for $96 USD on POS Supply.

This is a rather late reply from me, so thank you to those who put forward suggestions.

Attached is a sample of the thermal paper I’m currently using - bright white but still at least is reasonable for archival. Also some gentle Teletype humour on the copy…
