How many jacks do you need in your patch panel?

Do you need Tip/Sleeve jacks or Tip/Ring/Sleeve?

I use both,, but TRS is safer. I buy TRS plugs by the tens on eBay.

I build my own patching on Electrical boxes.

Don't forget a jack for a 100 ma meter. to check your loop current

If you don't have a meter, check out eBay.

I always monitor my loop currents.

You get a feel for how the meter should look

especially on RYs.

Attached pictures include 3 TS jacks with

shoulder washers and flat washers.

3 TRS jacks and 6 TRS jacks.

I can mount as many as 9 jacks on a 4x4 box.

The last picture shows a homebrew loop supply

and shows how I mount my meters.
