When you put the mainshaft back together, did you saturate all the felts with oil?
That is very important!

Don't forget to oil all the oil cups.

I am working on a 15 with butchered wiring. I ripped out all the odd wires and replaced
them according to the schematic.

It had many other problems. I have it working pretty well except for the ribbon oscillator,
I am probably going to have to take the carriage off to adjust it. It is easy to take the
carriage off, it is a lot harder to put it back on and get all the bell cranks riding on the
vanes. And be very careful when you put the carriage belt back on that you do not get
it caught in he spacing rack. Been there, done that.

This last 15 would print a while then race a while and print garble. That turned out to be the
very critical adjustment of the eccentric screw that drives the pin on the selector to
start it turning.

My best advice -  make sure you know exactly what you are doing, before you touch any
 adjustment.

Once you get it working , I have a 60 speed Teletype artwork stream. (Always in good taste.)
