I am playing with my 14 reperf again. when the ribbon is running from left to right, the left spool is so tight I can not tum it with my fingers and the typebars cannot press the ribbon against the tape.

The 14 Description manual is no help. Can anyone tell what provides back tension on the ribbon spools and How do I reduce it?

The ribbon setup is similar to a 15. The 15 description is no help either.
