Really don't know why to change to LED, I ran a Model 28 for 15 years, never replaced a bulb,  had M28ASRs with 
highway patrol, never replaced lamps in them.  Had a LONG life....gave away about 20 #82 lamps when sold my 
28ASR.

Maybe I missed it but is there a reason you want to go LED?  It looks like you can get a box of 10 incandescent #82 bulbs for 10 bucks.
