Installing the plastic hammer head onto the metal hammer lever. The note was included in a box of parts (including a couple of plastic hammer heads) sent from Typetronics many years ago. The box was in an SK’s garage among some TTY machines and several truckloads of other stuff.

I dunno but I may give it a try.

Really???  Wow.

This is for installing the hammer, right?
Found in a box of parts - a handwritten note from Fred Schmidt at Typetronics
"to replace the plastic hammer on the reperf, insert the hammer onto a paper clip and rotate the reperf to where the hammer lever is most accessible and insert it"

FWIW - I dunno how well that works, but it sounds a lot easier than my method -
