Power costs can be an interesting subject, for even for residential service, there may

very well be variable and fixed costs for service, above the specific energy costs.

Looking at a few previous billings from Clay Electric Cooperative, in Florida, the energy

cost is 8 cents per kWh for the first 1000 kWh.  Above 1000 kWh, the energy charge 

increases to 9.13 cents.  

But there are other costs, and the per kWh cost for a number of monthly billings, 

the billing amount divided by the kWh usage ranges from about 11.63 cents to 13.39 cents.
