Hello All,
I have a ST-8000 that I am trying to get running, I replaced the dallas memory, fixed some broken solder connections on the front panel and repaired some switches that were loose.
At this point it mostly "works" and I can feed my RVD-1005 with it and copy ITTY.
The problem I'm still having is according to the manuals I should be able to use regen to change baud rate in and out and change baudot to ascii and vise versa.
The speed change part works fine but baudot to ascii does not, with regen in the B/B positon and setting the speeds correctly it does speedshift baudot 45 to 75 out.
Switching to B/A it does the speed change but remains in baudot on the output, the fact that it does the speed change tells me that it is seeing the switch changing to that position.
So should regen in B/A actually convert the incoming signal to ascii on the terminal side? or am I mis-reading the function of that switch position?
Some other quirks is 3 memory positions shown in the overlay but 8 physical positions, front panel is drilled for and the pcb has the holes for a toggle switch to change tuning speed I think but doing a test jumper does nothing.
Maybe needs higher code to support that? code level is 1.4C according to the 2 eproms, looking in the archives I see there is higher code, is it possible to still get the later firmware?
Thanks for any help
