If it happens to be a 3.5mm headphone jack somewhere in the mix, make sure its plugged in all the way too. I -believe- the Dovetron may have a isolated interface, but I forget.

I wonder if it's a ground loop issue. If you disconnect the audio output
from any other equipment, and then connect some headphones to the audio
output, do you still get hum?
