Hey all, you might be amused by a dumb thing I did this morning. I haven’t been on the Saturday morning ratt net in ages and today the planets aligned, and I thought I’d give it a try. 9AM comes around and I hear traffic loud and clear but I cannot get my TU CV-2460) to recognize the traffic. I spent 45 minutes trying to figure out what was the problem. I start to mess around with the level and bias settings on the input stage, just randomly fiddling with these pots.

After a while I came to the conclusion that the CV must have had a failure in the audio amp input stage and therefore was playing deaf. So, I hung up the idea of getting on the air this morning and went about my business. Then 10AM comes around and I thought I’d try to get on the MMRCG USB net so I start tuning around and I hear something but it clearly is on LSB. I switch over and try to tune it in. And what?! The relays in the CV chattering away. Huh? Oh ratts! I realized I had routed the LSB audio from my radio to the CV instead of the USB audio! Arrggghh. All that time and it was a simply sending the wrong sideband. It probably is all fine but now I’ll have to recalibrate the pots to get them right again

My Saturday morning story!
