I have a Robot 800 TU with a small add-on board mounted vertically on a header on the left rear of the main board. This add-on includes a small battery, 2Kx8 static RAM, a PROM, and an 8741A (EPROM + small RAM + parallel I/O). There is a ribbon cable from this board to a DB15 connector on the rear of the Robot 800. The usual PROMS on the main board are missing.
Does anyone know what this add-on was? Parallel I/O to drive a printer? or to talk to a computer? Just curious as I don't plan to do anything with it.
This Robot 800 is equipped for LOW TONES - even if I changed the 34 (!) fixed resistors to convert to HIGH TONE receive, changing transmit tones would take a firmware change. It does seem to work in TRANSMIT, displaying text on a monitor, keying the loop from the keyboard, etc. It probably works in RECEIVE but I don't have any convenient low tone source.
If you'd like this gadget for the cost of postage, let me know. My usual arbitrary decision criteria apply in the event of multiple requests - an amusing/heartwarming/plaintive story about why you want it, a history of being helpful to Greenkeyers, etc. all get extra points. A message that just says "I'll take it" gets negative points. No warranty expressed or implied, Offer void for employees of Rossum's Universal Robots. No AI programs need apply.
Cheers,
