Welcome to the group.  

 

Before you apply AC to the machine turn the motor fan towards the front to make sure the mainshaft is freely spinning.  

 

Here is a wiki site that Jeff Albrecht set up for newbies and more.  Take a look and you may learn some good stuff.  Most of the troubles will be related to congealed grease and oil.

Its not as detailed as Curious Marc but I recommend seeing the machine work before you go to more extensive restoration.
