Yes this is an ST-5A homebrew. Larry noted “Predecessor to the ST-6 and described in one of the RTTY journals in the 50's.  88 mh toroids obtained from the phone company who used them for loading coils in their telephone trunk lines.” Yes there were extra boards for it sitting on top and the toroids were clearly used in it.
