I figured out the bell meant no paper. I resolved that, but it still seems to run "open" (I am used to my 33) even when all code bars are set. Either that, or it is running closed, and when the selector magnets are being held, it is erroneously not attempting to punch, or print.

Any ideas appreciated! Now that I know what it looks like to set the code bars, I am going to try re-reading the manual a bit.

Strip printing reperf. I do not see any similar component inside my 14 FPR. Between the wiring and the extra components, I think this must be some option.

Latest behaviour, I think the code bars need some oiling, but even with all held (this is a holding magnet selector) it is still running open, just with the bell ringing.

What mechanism prevents printing if all bars are held? Am I maybe hitting the out of paper bell?

Thanks,

Hi Eric,

You say for a 14, but is it 14 TD or reperf?  The part to the left appears to be part of  the selector mechanism of a reperf.  However, the multi-pin Jones plug was more common with a 14TD or FRXD.
