Hello,

Does the national weather service still broadcast a local weather report at 60 wpm? Are there any weather nets I can print from?

Andrew,

The old program "heavymetal.exe"  http://www.buzbee.net/heavymetal/   would go out to the NWS website and bring back weather information for various cities. You could then output it in 5 or 8 bit format at various speeds via a serial port.  The program will also generate test signals and TTY art.

You need a computer with a serial port and finding the NWS code for your city takes a little research, but it produces a nice daily weather report.  We run it each day we are open at the Antique Wireless Museum.

If you are interested in getting the NWS reports this way , check back here at Greenkeys after y ou have downloaded the program for details on how to find your weather code.

Have fun,
