Early M28 units used a 60v copy lamp (via dropping resistor from AC line) and later ones a #82 6v lamp. So be sure of what you are replacing!IIRC, the end-of-line lamp may still have stayed a 60v bulb with dropping resistor even though the copy lamps were 6v. The ways of the Teletype Corp are deep and mysterious….A 10-pack of #82 6v incandescents can be found for about the same price as a single LED equivalent. Unless you are running 24/7, I’d go with the incandescents.I think the dual contact socket is because the socket stayed the same when the field change to 6v was made.Nick______________________________________________________________On Thu, Mar 23, 2023 at 6:32 PM Jeff G <[email protected]> wrote:A number I got off the ones on the ship were GE #82, 6v bulbs. I find it odd that they have dual contacts on the bottom while the originals were just single filament bulbs (I think). The ones you linked show 2 filaments, which could be similar to a 1154 (6v dual filament like for a taillight).I see some on Ebay but they want $11 shipping for a pack of bulbs. Part of why I'm asking, is because it would be really cool to light up some of the other machines in the room, even if they aren't in use. (There's a couple waterfalls in there too, that I'm assuming likely use the same bulb). I thought I did good finding a bunch of bulbs in the parts units, only to find they were ALL burnt out LOL.JeffOn Thu, Mar 23, 2023 at 6:25 PM tony j. podrasky <[email protected]> wrote:______________________________________________________________GA OMs;
Well - the life of these bulbs are pretty good.
But if someone can get a good quantity deal on them, at a reasonable price I'd be interested in taking 2-4.

Does anyone know of a replacement for Model 28 document bulbs, preferably warm white (simliar to original) but LED? I know I can search for the bulbs (and see a few) but I figured I'd ask here if anyone has tried any yet? These seem pricey!
