If I add in the start and stop bits for a model 28, that is 7.42 bits per character, right? I’m not sure the start and stop bit lengths for 110 baud, but let’s say they also add 2.42 bits for a total of 10.42 bits. I calculate the model 28 at 75 baud is 10.1 characters per second and the model 35 is 10.6.

So the model 35 types slightly faster (about 4%) but not by much. 

I’m sure I messed something up here…

Well sort of, they called it the Model 35.  You will see parts in the 28 printer parts  section that are labeled as parts for 8 bits vs 5.  There was a model 29 that used an IBM code a rather than ASCII. Did it run 110 baud, don't know.
