I have my 33 connected via a serial adapter to a linux system with a custom agetty. When you turn on the 33, it asks for a username and password, and you are on a bash console. It takes some stty tweaking, so if you are not comfortable with linux this might not be a great option.

You can do that with your pi, or anything with usb or a serial port.

For windows, there is a program called heavy metal for interfacing teletypes.

I have not used it, but it may let you do what you want.

Otherwise, a wifi serial modem as others have linked is your best bet.

Hello all,

I finally got around to cleaning and getting my model 43 working again, and I have it communicating correctly with my Windows 10 PC via a serial port and PuTTY.  I'd love to be able to use the 43 as a terminal to connect to some BBSes via Telnet, but I can't figure out how to do it.

My options are to use the Win10 PC, or my Raspberry Pi clone (Libre LePotato).  I think the Pi probably makes more sense, but I'm pretty green with Linux.  I also need to figure out how to get my serial to USB adapter to work with the Pi.

Can you help?

Thanks and 73,
