Hi all,

I spent the day working on this CV-2460/SGC. It is a very cool bi-directional signal converter (essentially both send and receive). I know K6YIC has one too.

Took quite some time to understand its behavior, but now I’ve got it. Yesterday I had it working FB in full duplex mode, 4 wire setup. Today I went to follow the instructions on how to strap it for half-duplex where there is only a 2-wire loop and all of a sudden things stopped working. Took the rest of the day to fix it. I just had to reseat some cards with some deoxit! Two separate problems and they went away. So now I will integrate it into the shack.

The plan is that this will be my TU for 850 Hz shift and real teletype machines. This is in contrast to using a PC with my Harris RF-3466A TU. That TU only accepts RS-232 +/-12V  or +/-6V but no current loop. I was seriously thinking about a CL <-> RS-232 converter, but it just isn’t worth the hassle.  I’ll leave the RF-3466A for PC work and use the CV-2460 for Teletype. I also have an ST-6 for 170Hz shift with real teletypes so I feel I’m covered.

I am looking for some 2U rack ears for this. The holes in the side are spaced 4mm front to back and 4.5mm top to bottom

Any chance anyone has something that could fit the bill? I’ve already checked a CV-483 but different hole spacing. I would prefer to get something that fits before modifying something or making something.

Thanks everyone!
