Maybe the bottom unit is the FAX printer?  So maybe that makes the upper unit the FAX "modem"?   I'll bet there are folks on here that know exactly.

I recognize the SRR receiver in the middle. But what are the units above and below? Anyone recognize them? The bottom unit kind of looks like some navy antenna couplers I’ve seen but the rounded front (seemingly) translucent cover makes me think it is a teleprinter of some kind?
