Looks like you could still use a new ribbon, and let that one wither away its last breath in the round file.  😊

Subject: [GreenKeys] 28 Printing I for T - Solved

A couple months ago my 28 skintight started printing I instead of T. (See first photo.)

My first thaought was misinterpreting a character. I checked The code chart: T is ----5, while I is -23--. Not likely.

My next though was that the platen might have been to low and the T-bar was trying to print around the curve. That is an easy adjustment on a 15 but I have no jdea how to do on a 28. So I just stopped using it.

Yesterday I started thinking about ribbons. After I re-ink a ribbon too many times it starts to fold over on top. I checked and that was not the case here. Then I wondered if the ribbon oscillator was not lifting the ribbon high enough. I stared at it while it was mis-printing, but nothing jumped out at me. Then I got the bright idea of turning the ribbon upside down. I reversed the spools - Problem solved! (See second photo.)

I hope this might help somebody.
