Bill, 

Whatever you do dont take the keyboard apart.  See if you get the same results when you run a tape or when the computer is sending to the the TTY.

If you isolate it to the keyboard check all the vertical contact wires on both sides of the kybd to be sure they are clean and in their neoprene slots.  See pics.
