Hi,

Does anyone have any idea what this little rubber thing might be? I found it jammed between the code bars of the Model-33 ASR that I'm restoring. It appears to be newer than the rest of the machine so I'm assuming that it isn't an original part that belongs on something. Could it have been what the previous person was using as a hammer bumper? If so, it doesn't show any signs of use. I haven't tried fitting it on the hammer - it looks approximately the right size, but it's got a tapered and curved interior wall so I don't think it would actually stay on very well..
