Subject: [GreenKeys] off topic - vacuum tube lamp

The vacuum tube lamp I was working on now for over a month is finally finished!!!

I acquired this tub a few years ago online from a Russian seller. It is a GM-100 triode tube, the biggest one ever built. The tube is tanding 18 inches tall and the overall height of the lamp us about 24 inches.

Attached are a few pics.

And here are some details for the propeller heads 😂

There is a 15VDC 30amp power supply inside of the base along with a variable 12V 5amp supply for the blue LED's. The filament/heater runs actually on 17V but I decided not to run the heater that hard.

The base is made out of black acrylic and I covered the top of the base with carbon fiber and epoxy. The two disks on top are clear acrylic. All acrylic pieces were cut and polished by myself. All hardware is either stainless steel or chrome plated.
The bottom holder for the tube is actually a 3" muffler coupler with only one millimeters to spare - a perfect fit.
The lamp turns on/off via remote control. The receiver is also hidden inside of the base.

Still on my workbench in my shop for some detail cleaning and hopefully the rain will stop so I can bring this beautiful piece of artwork inside the house.

It was a fun but extremely time consuming and challenging project.

Wondering what the next project will be 🤔

Maybe to build a robot to do my dishes and clean the house every day 🤣

Enjoy the pics.
