Dear GK folks - my Teletype M32 is outwardly in nice condition and I am finally getting it prepped... with a view to doing some i-telex. 

It runs in open when powered up, and although pressing the Local button doesn't seem to do anything, if I turn the dialer clockwise the chattering stops and I can type locally without issue.

Any thoughts on this?  Attached are some photos.
