Gerry, I have two of these too. My recollection is that these are 6 bit machines. I don’t know whether the lower 5 are the same as baudot or not, I can’t recall. I once lent one to Jack Hart (SK) and he was able to get it to print. The
paper width was another issue, as it takes 0.75” tape like other stock tickers but not the narrower tape for baudot so it kinda moved around a lot during the test.

I have two Western Union (teletype) 5A stock tickers. One is 100% complete; the other is missing the inking cylinder which could be easily fabricated. These tickers have
the insides of a model 26 (ring selector) mounted on its side, with the output driving the typewheel. See Brook Clarks website
Western Union 5A Stock Quotation Machine (prc68.com). The type wheels are present and in good shape.. I would say other than that, with simple re-lubrication both would be in in working condition. They both use standard synchronous motors. I would like
to give these units to the right interested party, but it MUST be pickup because as usual, although they are small they are heavy because they were built by Teletype. My zip code is 92082.
