Couldn't remember the name when I posted before. I use Baco Ribbons. She sells very good ribbons and sells bulk ribbons.

   She doesn't have a web presence.
   Not sure of the best type of ribbon, probably Nylon, they are as sharp as silk and mechanically long lasting. For plain typewriters I use cotton because they are darker than any other but don't wear as well.
  I have heard but never tried resuscitating dried out ribbons with WD-40. Might work on ribbons that are dried out but not worn out. IMO its better to get some bulk ribbon and respool.

BTW none of the dry ribbons were from Jim, his are great.  I'm just thinking that he doesn't have an endless supply and ebay etc is sometimes a crap shot.
