But the spool ends up winding the tape in the wrong direction and is basically useless.Paul

It makes it clearer what he's doing. I've got to break out some junk
tape and give it a try, but I think I see what's going on. He uses the
thumb and little finger to wrap the tape, giving it a half-twist each pass.
A new thing to learn! Woo Hoo!
