It’s actually pretty easy to do. I learned it from Henning. I’ve been doing it between thumb and pinky. The article says do it between the thumb and the two middle fingers (fingers 2 and 3, which are held together). I’ll have to try that.
What amazed me was how the first guy in the Phu Lam video tied it and hung it up in the beginning of the video- no rubber band required. I watched it closely a few times but could not see how he did that.
I used to use one of those Brucknel (?) automatic winders to wind it onto a spool as it comes out of the punch so that it doesn’t not end up all over the floor. But the spool ends up winding the tape in the wrong direction and is basically useless.
