Thanks to video editing advice from Daniel K6YIC, I have now been able to upload a slo-mo video showing this overprint problem.

It's like the typebox is trying to shift from FIGS to LTRS, but gets stuck where the # pallet is located.......

FWIW Unshift On Space is disabled. 

For example, if I am printing ITTY news articles, all the commas get overstruck.
