The "event" this year is informal, coinciding with the ARRL Straight Keys Night which runs from 0000 to 2400 UTC, Jan 1, 2022. You can use any RTTY frequency, but with the lack of interested people, the informal "autostart" frequencies that a few of us have decided on (14086, 7086, or 3586, LSB) would be a good place to look for signals. What geographic regions can receive it depends a lot on time of day and propagation. Coast-to-coast QSO's have been made (20m daytime). The Reverse Beacon Network shows the same is possible at night on 40m, but time differences are harder to overcome at night. Most activity is on Saturday during the day on 20m. There are a few east-coasters who might be on the air.
