When you said "4. one vacuum tube", I had to look at my calendar.  Nope, not April 1st.
Darn if there isn't a nine pin socket for one.  But it just doesn't look like the screws Teletype would have used to mount the socket.

Interested yes, time for another project unfortunately no.  In my youth I would have jumped at the thought of gear shift AND answer back features.

I have this special Model 28 base that I don't have the time to work to restore. Please see the pictures attached to see a Teletype Model 28C Base that includes both a three-speed gearshift and an answerback.

What is missing:

1. the LMU.   2. gear # 162669  3. at least one spring. 4. one vacuum tube

The pinion gear 162669 is generally considered to be made of unobtanium but I do have the specs:

24 D.P.   14 1/2 P.A.  15 teeth  11/32 pitch circle   Face width 1/2"  Hub length 5/8"  Hub diameter 1/2" Hub bore 3/8"

Let me know at [email protected] if you are interested.

Thanks 73
