I was 5 yrs old. My mom had just picked me up from kindergarten on the way to pick up my older sister at her school. We heard it on the AM radio in the car. I still remember hearing my mom's gasp at hearing the news.

I was in the 5th grade.
They marched us out to the play ground and the principle told us.
