The motor in my first 28 TD needed a push to start. I added a $6.95 capacitor form eBay outboard. (Photo 1)
The cap buy-it-now was titled
"Packard PRMJ43 Motor Start Capacitor 43-53 MFD 330 VAC"
I put arrows on all my motors to show the direction of rotation for hand cycling.
I learned that the clutch magnets can be run from 120VAC. My coils are labeled "256" which must be wired in parallel. The second photo shows the white and black jumpers to power the clutch magnets. I want to do the same on my second TD but I am trying to ring out the clutch wiring with an ohmmeter before I put 120 VAC anywhere but on the motor

By the way, I use old IEC cords for 3-wire line cords. Some have European colors. I ring them out and use them anyway.
