Darn, I was waiting for the Penn & Teller solution. 

 I guess sometimes there's just no short cut. Of course some times a before picture is nice.  Some times a magic marker (the sharper the tip the better) can make an outline around a part to help get it close to the original  position when reassembling.  But most of the time I think of those things too late.

I am trying to avoid taking off the typebar guide/ribbon oscillator. That is what git me into so much trouble when I changed the pullbar. I will live with the poor "Z" before I go through that mess again.
