@John
Western Union Telex was taken out of service I'd guess 1980ish,
complete 19 table setup, synch motor keyboard perf base,
Western Union Power supply has a solid steady 120vdc 60ma running the 15 printer, a 14 typing reperf and another 14 tape printer plus computer.
 It has 2 loops in the power supply the second one isn't hooked to anything on the terminals inside the set. And the adjustment is at 120ma on that side the slider is about mid way on the resistor.
I've had stuff hooked up to that other side of the powersupply using a military line unit to bring the current down to 60ma so I didn't have to dink with the slider inside the set. At that time it ran everything I had hooked to it, But I also haven't messed with that side in maybe 6 or 8 months.
The side I'm using like I mentioned is at 60ma  the slider on that side is toward the end of the resistor.
Everything is hooked up/wired according to the WU schematic that I have with the exception of the "TELEX" box its gone. I have that jumpered out for the set to run.
FYI I'm looking for one of those WU Telex boxes (has 3 12 pin molex connectors on it) it doesn't have to work I want the box to house a microcontroller.
If I don't find a real one gonna 3D print a faux one...(A project for another day)

Tonite when I get home going to try and cut/disconnect the wire to the punch coil and see if that is where the issue is...???.
I'll post my results about 6 or 7 ish
It's darn odd.
