Back in April, before Hotmail shut me out of Greenkeys, I was having trouble with the motor in my 28 KSR. Since then I was given a collection of 28 pieces. (Thanks Bill) I took the LMU12 from an ASR with no cabinet and put it in mine. No problems since!

I had put an outboard new capacitor on my LMU12. It worked for a week or two but got flaky again. I will be trying it in a 28 KSR which is a much lighter load.

I also fixed a wobbly baseline on the ASR. Cycling the motor by hand I observed that  both correcting levers were slightly bent and not engaging when the typebox was at its highest postion. causing the bottom row of type to print low. Some very careful bending solved the problem and now it types beautifully.

Next problem - the keyboard typing perforator is very flaky. It is also filthy. I may take it outside ext spring and give it a bath in Simple Green then start over with it.

I am trying to get my local ex-Navy 28 repairman to walk me through fixing the stuntbox on the first KSR  am putting together. That is the one that won't respond to an LF character.

I  also have a 28 ROTR that punches tape perfectly but won't print right.
I see a large part of the problem is that  the print hammer is not hitting
the characters on the typewheel squarely and only parts of them print.

I am going from machine to machine trying to fix problems. I am glad
I love to learn new things.
