One of the printers used with the Sanyo/
RadioShack pocket computers operated on the same principle.
Don't forget the TeleAutograph, although the signals to the
servos were not digital but generated by a human writer. I was
instructed on repairing them in my course on fax machines in the
Air Force, but they were all gone by the time I got to my duty
station.
