This keyboard perforator creates Wheatstone code 15/32" punched paper tape
with hole patterns for the dots and dashes of Morse Code. i.e. press A and
you get dot pattern plus dash pattern. Some photos and links are here -

I had heard it referred to as a Kleinschmidt Perforator before, and I have
had several units with Teletype logos. I just saw that John W1AN has one
with a Boehme logo.
So what's the story???
Edward E. Kleinschmidt's book says he developed the first Wheatstone
keyboard perforator in 1911 and Creed became a sales agent in England in
1914.

Kleinschmidt and Morkrum merged in 1925 and the name changed to Teletype in
1928
Did Boehme take over sales after WW2 ??
Some documents I have -
The 1926 Teletype Wiring Diagram 800 says Teletype model WPE
The 1937 Teletype description/adjustments manual 125B pictures a unit with
Teletype logo
The 1937 Teletype parts manual 1025B just says "Teletype Wheatstone
Perforator"
The 1945 Teletype parts manual 1025B covers Teletype models WPE3/1SS,
WPE3/1JJJ, and WPE16/1SS
The AN/FGQ-3 military model is a Teletype model WPE18/1SS.
The later MX-491A/U military model is a Boehme model WPE18/1SS
A Creed unit in the V&A Museum says
"KLEINSCHMIDT PERFORATOR PATENTED - PAT'S PD'G CREED & CO. LTD. LONDON
SOLE AGENTS SERIAL NO. 1244 VOLTS 110-120"
https://collections.museumsvictoria.com.au/items/409646
As far as I can tell these were all the same basic unit as the original
Kleinschmidt

Oddball versions - I once owned a Teletype unit where all the keylevers had
been removed except for the numbers. It came out of the DC area. What was
that for?
The WPE16/1SS was used in the TT-94/FG Automatic Baudot to Morse converter
- a Baudot tape reader (TD) drove a Selector which pulled down the correct
key from underneath the Keyboard Perforator which in turn punched the
Wheatstone tape.
