Yes it does say ON, but there would normally be a power switch to the
right and just below the keyboard. I'm totally unaware of any
modification that would add that key to the keyboard. So I'm trolling
to see if anyone is aware of it among the other 10,000 exceptions to
standard Teletype standard practices. It would appear that Teletype
would come up with a modification kit for just about anything for a
customer requested feature.
Normally keys in that top row are red, so that's another clue that this
is something unusual.
My theory is that there is some function installed that would normally
have a red key, but one was unavailable. As an example there is a
modification kit to ad the answer back function. But, the Here Is red
key is a separate (optional) modification kit.
