Our interactive exhibits leader has suggested a plexiglass shell for our first Model 15, too.  I wonder if one might have to clean the inside surfaces occasionally for oil spray, but that's no big deal. Also want to set two machines up in a loop so that one can type to the other, demonstrating more clearly that these are not just overly complicated typewriters. I've overheard a few "knowing" comments that the 15 is either an old typewriter or an Enigma Machine.

I did something like this for a museum.

On the web there is a very old MSDOS program written in BASIC with the
name RTTY12G. Runs on a PC.  The original purpose pf the program is to
turn a PC into an ASR set for amateur RTTY.
Since it is in BASIC and the source is included it is easy to modify
to suit yourself.  Assuming your PC has the kind of UART that can
be set to 45.45 baud.

I had it set up imitating a news wire service printer with stories about
whatever the museum was showing at the time.  Visitors could tear off the
copy and take it with them.  (wonder if any of those later showed up on
ebay with a high price as if they were the original copy?)  I just went
to the library that had files of newspapers from the town and copied
whatever stories I wanted and typed them in.

Somdething I envisioned buut never carried out was to make a transparent
case for the 15.  Seemed that kids especially were fascinated by watching
the machine print out the news hot off the wire.  But it's dangerous as
well as noisy to just run the machine without a case since the viewer
can get slammed in the head by a carriage return.
