I was there Saturday only, and I spent 95% of my time in the
Fleamarket with a couple of stops in the Food Court to catch up with
people I knew from Columbus.
I went for components and connectors. I was sad that were few
opportunities to pick up DIP ICs (for my 1960s-1990s machines and
projects). I got a few bags of capacitors for kit builds, some DIN
connectors and in a "Fill this bag for $5" a handful of C-mount camera
lenses off of security cameras that will be great for Raspberry Pi
cameras). I saw a few DEC machines from the 1980s - Rainbow, Pro350,
Pro 380, and a 42"-tall PDP-11 with dual 10MB RL02 drives. I have
plenty of those toys so I left them for others (and one of my walking
companions did go back for the Pro380 and the stack of 10MB MFM
drives, purchased on behalf of the LSSM in New Kensington)
It was my first time at Hamvention since it moved from Hara to Xenia.
Definitely felt a lot smaller.
