[GreenKeys] 28ASR typing unit issue

Gang,

Referencing the attached pics, I ran across a mechanical problem with my 
28asr typing unit, that the code bars were changing with the data, but 
the main shaft clutch was not engaging rendering the type box 
inoperative. Upon inspection on the left side of the typing unit I found 
a loose screw that retaining a small flimsy tab that engages the left 
end of the top code bar, the "suppression code bar". The tab had lifted 
out of the small slot at the end of the suppression code bar, allowing 
it to move to the left disengaging a lever that permits the clutch to 
engage on the main clutch below. All is working now, but I'm at a loss 
for the purpose of this tab. Is it some kind of maintenance link? I have 
not found any reference to it in my manuals. Any thoughts are welcome.
