The cup, I've even had at least one NOS cup that didn't help. At the
moment I'm not remembering what the difference was. Was there a change
in material at some point in time?

Since that time I have been cleaning it up, fixing the ESU – rectifier assembly, learning how it is wired and testing. There is one item that has me stumped. The dashpot does not seem to want to work as it should preventing carrier bounce on return from a long line of text. This is when printing multiple long lines at 60 WPM. I have the service manual and followed that, removed the dashpot assembly, cleaned and replaced, no luck. I did not lose the screw, nut, small spring or the tiny little ball. Reassembled all parts and tried adjusting according to the documentation, tested, but still no luck. The best I can get it adjusted is so that lines of text of about 60 characters or less will do just fine when executing a return but much beyond that and the carrier will bounce 2 to 4 characters at the start of a line. I’m wondering if the dashpot cup [plastic, rubber?] is worn out and needs to be replaced. I look forward to any suggestions that will help this little guy get back to doing his job like I’m sure he did at one time. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
