[GreenKeys] M28 info labels white on black

Many model 28 machines have white on black writable labels (using white
carbon paper) on either side of the keyboard for recording circuit or
service information. e.g.

So why white on black?
Better visibility in low light conditions or ??
Is there any official explanation?
