One thing Ive found a lot with TTY gear is that for receive, the TU device is often expecting a high-level "amplified" signal, basically from a speaker output. Dont ask me how many times Ive hooked something up to a "data out" port on the radio which is fixed 1v 600ohm and pull my hair out because its deaf as can be (while occasionally copying a word or two to add to the confusion.)
The output on the other hand is often low level and OK.
Another thing to check: On your radio, FSK mode might be wrong; with AFSK its regular audio youre sending, so try leaving it in SSB mode instead.
