I have to add to this subject.. Yes line voltages have gone up way up and
like Tom said hard on gear that was designed for older lower line
voltages.. Here in Alberta I have see my AC for my amplifiers, what was
called 220 VAC, now measure at 249 volts.. I have seen tube filaments that
are rated for 5 volts now get hit with 8 and 9 volts!! Luckily the
filament transformer is a seperate one and I put resistors in the lower
current primary connections.. Great for the HV plate voltage !! Skip
